Why did you decide to come to TAMIU? My family always encouraged me to travel to the U.S. to get an education. TAMIU caught my attention because of its diversity and potential growth. Until this day, I hold no regrets in my decision because the professors and the administration have always been very supportive and have always encouraged me to exceed in my studies. What is your major? What are your educational/professional goals? I currently hold a Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Master's in Management. I'm continuing my education in Fall 2009, and in the next 4 years, I plan to earn a Doctorate degree in International Business with a concentration in Management. Research and teaching have always been my passion, so I would like to become a professor for a university to help individuals seeking a higher education succeed. How are you adjusting to life at TAMIU? Towards the beginning, I was intimidated due to the language barrier, but as time passed by, my English truly improved. I don't yet speak Spanish correctly, but my Tex-Mex has certainly improved. Also, having one hundred degree weather also took some time to get used to.

Do you have any suggestions for improving the campus? I believe TAMIU is a great campus, but the university is growing, and there is still room for improvement. For example, as I leave campus every afternoon, I notice the limited parking spaces. I suggest the university should consider expanding the parking spaces or create another parking lot for students. In addition, I would like to see tennis courts or a track field for students to have more variety of sport activities on campus. What is the one thing about your culture you wish every student knew? One tradition is that my country is well known for its hand-cut crystal glass. We create a variety of vases, champagne glasses, plates, bowls, and chandeliers with distinctive features.
