From stovepipe trousers to oversized sweaters and plaid, fall is in full gear and most in the area have yet to catch a scent of what should be worn out this season.
Don’t leave your dorm room, apartment, parent’s home (wherever you get your beauty rest at) in your over worn gym gear and flip flops, motivate yourself to be creative and draw some well deserved attention.
Let’s start with the bottom half of the outfit ladies; thin is in and there are plenty of wonderful pants out there that can show off your figure. I am not talking about body-tight pants, think more along the lines of straight leg. If pants are not your thing, there are plenty of nice plaid skirts out there for you to wear…yes I said plaid. Plaid is in; just don’t go overboard.
Now that the heat is somewhat leaving the area, let’s consider wearing a nice (but thin) slightly oversized sweater or a sweater dress. The colors to look for are black, white, gray, or tans. While you are at it, throw on a matching hat or a chapeaus, because hats are also in.
Footwear, throw on some ankle reaching eighties styled heeled boots, black is a good color; just don’t forget to add some leggings to accomplish a good eighties look to your outfits.
What about going out? Try throwing on a velvet colored or textured dress for a glamourous night out on the town. Sheer black is also in so don’t think you can’t wear a ‘little black dress’ out. If you decide for black, remember to accessorize with black nettings, yes even nettings are back in. As for jewelry, don’t go crazy with too much; a simple touch will do.
These are just some suggestions to add a taste of mainstream to campus fashion. Don’t be afraid to pick up a copy of Glamour or Harper’s Bazaar while you are at it, they help out too. Chin up!
