Spelling out fall fashion in the last issue I seem to have not gone into enough detail over a few items. Due to popular demand, I decided to go a bit further into detail about select items.
Starting off with Colour! What are the colors for the season?
From what I have seen spread across the pages of the fashion bibles (Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Glamour and Elle), grey, tans, shades of green, animal prints (I consider these colors so long as they do not harm animals) and stripes (preferably black and white) are all in. This season’s new black according to New York Fashion is red (ruby red).
Next item to discuss are the wonderful sweater dresses that are so magnificently fitting for this season. Sweater dresses can be easily purchased online or at the mall and are not expensive (Gap, Target, Banana Republic, overstock.com, etc). What is great about sweater dresses is that there are so many different styles and types (from wraps to button-downs).
If you don’t like the sweater dresses, have no fear…vests are in. They may be boyish looking but vests are a nice touch to add to most wardrobes. Going right with vests are the arrival of boyish pants into the season (boyish meaning they resemble men’s trousers but retaining a very feminine look to them). I am not advocating gender breaking.
Sticking with vests: Don’t be scared and throw on a nice sweater vest over a dress if you are the type that likes dresses but still wants to stay warm. Just keep two things in mind when you do this: make sure they match (the vest should be a solid color preferably darker than the dress) and make sure the dress fits the season (think tans or browns with floral or some fall season print on it).
Most important thing to remember: be stylish and pretty!
