RBD ends world tour at the LEC

Mexican pop phenomenon RBD ended one leg of its world tour at the Laredo Entertainment Center on Saturday, March 3.

Colorful lights beamed across the arena, and the excitement grew as the more than

6,000 fans anxiously took their seats.

The concert was kicked-off by opening act singer Diego Gonzalez.

Then came the group members: Maite, Anahi, Dulce Maria, Christian, Alfonso, and Christopher (RBD) hitting the stage and beginning the main show with “Rebelde”

The fans reacted by releasing their energy with screams and loud applause, rivaled only by the band’s powerful audio and neon-colored light system.

The band continued its energetic performance, with hits like “Me Voy,” (I’m Gone) “Asi Soy Yo,” (This is How I Am) and “Enseñame” (Teach Me.).

The show reached its first climax when Christian Chavez, the band’s openly gay lead singer, took the stage.

“Thank you for letting me sing on this stage and for not judging me,” Chavez said before singing the band’s hit “Tu Amor,” (Your Love) with which the crowd passionately sang along.

The fast-paced show continued with songs like “Tras de Mi” (Behind Me) and “Que Hay Detras” (What’s Behind). A second high point was reached when Dulce Maria got ready to sing “No Pares” (Don’t Stop).

“We thank you, all of you who have reminded us for two years that dreams can become a reality,” Dulce Maria told the fans, who waved at her as they screamed her name.

“We want to tell you that whatever happens, never stop fighting for your dreams and never stop enjoying life,” she continued.

RBD closed finished off the one hour and 40 minute show with “Solo Quedate en Silencio,” (Just Remain Silent), “Nuestro Amor” (Our Love) and a rock version of “Rebelde.”

The thing that was obvious at the end of the great show was that the crowd was extremely satisfied by the performance RBD gave them.
