Juno earns bragging rights

If you want to laugh, cry, and be surprised, then Juno is the movie to watch. This film centers on 16-year old Juno (Ellen Page from X-Men 3), who becomes pregnant by her high school friend (Micheal Ceral, who starred in Super Bad).As the film progresses, Juno searches for parents to adopt her baby and give it a better life than she can. One couple, played by Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner, becomes interested in Juno’s offer but later encounters some unexpected difficulties.Juno starts out with dry humor and transcends into a serious-but funny-realistic take on life. Although some scenes seem to drag, they immediately pick up right after, and the fairly simple cinematography helps the movement of the film. Diablo Cody’s dialogue in her screenwriting debut has won her several nominations, including an Oscar for Best Screenplay. The acting stays true to the characters, and Ellen Page has been nominated for Best Actress for her performance. Best of all is how the plot plays out with a realism that is rarely seen in most films.Director Jason Reitman did a fantastic job with this tale of troubled adolescent behavior. His work has brought him several nominations including Oscars for Best Motion Picture of the Year and Best Achievement in Directing.This story about life and consequences, including the comedic twists, is sure to become a classic.
