TAMIU Psychology Club, in collaboration with Student Government Association will be collecting toiletry items for the women and families in need at Casa de Misericordia.
The drive which began in February will run through May 7, 2010.
Organizers are asking for donations, such as lightly used clothing, sanitary napkins, lotions, soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.
“There is a lot of need in Laredo, especially for the women in Casa de Misericordia. They give up so much for their family,” said project organizer, Cynthia A. Gallardo.
With the drop off set for mother’s day, Gallardo hopes the donations act as encouragement.
“It’s set to be an incentive for them, for all they do for their children,” said Gallardo.
All donations may be dropped off in Student Center room 229.
