1. What will you do to encourage student involvement and enhance student life?
Mahatma Ghandi said, “You must be the change that you want to see in the world”. Because I call for my peers to be involved in campus life, I myself have experienced a little bit of everything that our university has to offer. From intramurals to the dormitories, from clubs and organizations to student-faculty work groups, I try to participate in all kinds of situations so that I can relate to as many people as possible. First I must be the change that I want to see at TAMIU, so that others can see the possibilities.
2. What is the biggest challenge facing the university? What would you do to meet that challenge?
The most frequently asked question at TAMIU is one simple word: “Why?” Why is it so hard to find a parking space? Why is there a 500 page cap printing limit? I believe that the question we should be asking is, “Who?” Who can talk to about my concerns? Who do I go to get things done? I can answer that in two words: Mark Garner.
3. What has been your most significant contribution to TAMIU thus far?
I believe that my single most significant contribution to our university thus far is definitely my attitude. From my perspective, our campus has amazing resources and I would like to utilize them all so that our university can reach its full potential. My time and commitment in Student Government reflects my overall mindset: Texas A&M International University is growing and going forward. I want to ensure that this continues so everyone can know that a Dustdevil is more than just some dirt in your eyes and a passing breeze—it’s a force to be reckoned with.
