International Concert showcases students

Texas A&M International University’s Sixth Annual International Guitar concert took place on Sunday, April 25 at 4 p.m. at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.
Members of the ensemble include: Audrey L. Esparza, Joshua D. Orr, Juan M. Peña, Manuel Torres González, Maricela Gonzalez, Marissa Treviño, Jesus Encajada, Jorge García, Ronald Hernandez, Mark Martinez, Marco Lopez, Daniel Arambula and Emmanuel Issac Pruneda.
The concert’s objective included featuring the music of different countries around the world including the United States, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Germany, and England.
The program was dedicated to Mexico’s bicentennial celebration with a special showcase of “Huapango” by Mexican composer, Jose Pablo Moncayo Dr. Gilberto Soto, professor of music education/guitar and director of the TAMIU Guitar Ensemble.
The event was free and open to the public.
