Maroon Mob Hits TAMIU

On Monday Aug. 30, , Texas A&M International University students all across campus gathered in the Student Center Rotunda at noon in an effort to show school spirit The event was held by the Office of Student Affairs and has been occurring since 2007.

It began with different sports team members coming out to encourage everyone to come support their teams throughout the year. The teams included both the boys’ and girls’ basketball team, the girls’ volleyball team, as well as others. Each team was supported by their fellow Dustdevils and cheered on.

Both Student Affairs and team members taught the TAMIU Fight Song to the surrounding students. TAMIU t-shirts, ,foam fingers and flags were tossed into the crowds. The TAMIU Marching Band also made an appearance as did Dusty, TAMIU’s mascot. Food was served and the students had a good time while supporting their peers and showing their TAMIU pride.

Over the years, students have shown up and fully participated in cheering on their school. Maroon Mob Day not only showed students to have spirit but also lifted those of the various clubs, organizations, and teams on campus as they chanted,

“Go Dustdevils! South Texas shining pride! Go! Dustdevils, with spirit from inside!”
