Texas A&M International University will be hosting a reception for artists Joey Fauerso and Riley Robinson at the Center for Fine and Performing Art Gallery on Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. The exhibition entitled, Fields and Monuments: Paintings by Joey Fauerso and Sculptures by Riley Robinson. Refreshments and beverages will be served. The event is free and open to the public. The exhibit will remain on display until Oct. 14. Both artists will be present to answer questions regarding their artwork.
Fauerso’s artwork showcases the human figure combined with nature as she explains, “Recent paintings and animations depict sites of ecstasy and eroticism where the body and landscape merge into a single entity.” Her artwork has been viewed nationally and internationally.
Robison’s artwork mainly focuses on abstract design. He gets his inspiration from Swedish interior design such as the IKEA company and also incorporates sports such as soccer. His designs are based from his recent studies in Norway. He uses particle board and cutout designs to display, as he states, “the global reaches of both sport and the design firm.”
His artwork has been displayed in various galleries and will now be able to be seen by TAMIU faculty, students, and the community.
Both artists reside in San Antonio Texas together along with their son Brendan Robinson.
