First Shooting Suspect Dead, Second Suspect Not Found

A suspected male shooter who opened fire at the University of Texas at Austin in the Perry-Castañeda library has killed himself. The shooting was said to take place on the sixth floor of the library according to Rhonda Weldon, UT police spokeswoman.

No one else was hurt during the shooting. According to the Austin American Statesman, eight to 10 shots were fired. Witnesses say that the shooter was said to be carrying an AK-47 and said to be wearing a black ski mask.

A possible second shooter is still being searched for by UT police, as several armed vehicles and helicopters encircle the campus.

Classes have been canceled for the day and students are told not come to campus through the campus main site, Facebook, and Twitter.
