Aisles full of exhibitors were found at the 2011 SXSW Trade Show. For four days, the trade show presented attendees with the opportunity to view the latest on technological innovations. Among the different products included Star Wars USB’s and iPhone external battery cases. Yet, there was a main emphasis on apps for what some people cannot live without, cell phones. Some of these apps were launched throughout SXSW.
These were some of the apps:
Locaii: (iPhone) This app, which was launched at SXSW, allows users to share with their friends their current location. Therefore, users have the opportunity to interact and converse with other users at any moment even allowing them to set up polls to see what others think.
Acts of Sharing: (iPhone) This app was one of the five finalists of the SXSW Interactive Awards. At Acts of Sharing, you post a collection of items you are willing to share with friends, as well as borrow from your friends. Currently, it is being beta tested in Austin and Dallas; however, it will eventually include other cities.
Vufind: (iPhone & Android) This app is a game where users have the opportunity to express their interests through photos and video. They also get to learn about others who share similar interests meanwhile amassing Vufind currency and prizes.
Tap City: (iPhone) This location-game app was recently created by college graduates. It presents users with the ability of making their own empire by acquiring, renting or selling the territory of their favorite real-life places.
All the apps mentioned above are free of charge in the App Store. We will start reviewing them and invite you to download these applications and give us your recommendations as well.
