Plenty of fun at LEA Carnival

Flashing lights, vendors screaming for your attention, people’s laughter, and the aromas of different foods will welcome you as you walk into the Washington’s Birthday Celebration Association Carnival (WBCA). During the month of February, Laredo is filled with much joy and plenty to do. From the grand parade to the Jamboozie sponsored by UETA, but a true favorite that was established in 1966 is the WBCA Carnival. People of all ages can enjoy themselves at the event.

There are plenty of rides for any age! The traditional rides were brought back such as the Zipper, Thunder Boats, Tornado, Fun House, to the thrilling Ring of Fire, Zyklon Roller Coaster and The Super Shot! This year the community was surprised by the WBCA as they brought for the first time ever the  Speed 136’ high Extreme Thrill Ride which goes 136 feet in the air at 60 miles per hour.

Not into rides? Well, there was plenty that kept everyone busy! Novelty shops, games and food booths that offer funnel cakes, corn dogs, hot dogs, pizza, cheese fries, cotton candy and delicious turkey legs kept everyone satisfied! The WBCA Carnival opened in Laredo from February 12-23, 2015 and had operated Monday through Friday 5 p.m. to midnight and Saturday-Sunday noon to midnight. The fun was located at Laredo Energy Arena parking lot.
