Ramirez: Update all your information, stay informed

With the university changing its student ID number system, financial aid refund process and other things, it is of “extreme” importance for students to update their information and stay connected.

In a sit down interview with Associate Vice President for Student Success Minita Ramirez, she urges students to update all their information as soon as possible.

The fall semester already began and for some students, not having their information updated resulted in late financial aid refunds, lost university mail and the headaches of waiting for everything to be resent to the correct address.

“Students need to know that they are responsible for updating their personal information (i.e.: address and phone numbers) so that the university is able to provide them with all the information they need to know about,” says Ramirez.

Aside from updating their information, Ramirez urges students not to wait until the last minute to file their FASFA and other important documents.

Aside from updating information Ramirez encourages students to also remember to clean out their e-mail mailboxes, check their university provided student e-mail on a regular basis, and to check up on their financial aid folders. Not keeping up with these important resources could mean falling behind on important information needed on campus.

“Remember: commit yourself to your education (know your mission), be informed of the resources available to you and convince yourself that a Bachelor’s Degree is just the beginning,” noted Ramirez.
