Letter to the reader

Dear Reader,

How is your semester going? Have you traveled recently? Read any Bridge articles you liked-or disliked? Which stories do you read? Which do you skip? We want to know! This is my last semester as an undergrad, and the TAMIU community has grown since I started. Working on campus has revealed even more of TAMIU’s increasing diversity. As a Writing Center tutor, I’ve met many students of different backgrounds and read what they have to say. Reading movie reviews, personal stories, current events, and more, I notice each piece has an exclusive experience. Each student comes with his or her own perspective and experience and has ideas and stories one would never expect.Working with The Bridge brings similar experiences. Whether writing their opinions or reporting yours, the reporters introduce me to new thoughts and information. I appreciate being a part of that experience. Therefore, I’d like you to share in the experience. Several students have asked about contributing to the newspaper. Please do-and often! I don’t want you to feel you have to ask; remember, it’s your paper! And I know writing for publication can be scary, but don’t worry about it-that’s what editors are for. If you’d like to submit your writing, suggest a topic, respond to an article, or send a letter or photo to the editor, contact us by emailing bridgeeditor@tamiu.edu or journalism@tamiu.edu, visiting our website www.thebridgenewspaper.com, calling 956-324-2472, or stopping by the office in Pellegrino Hall 312. We are really looking forward to hearing from you. Give us feedback! Help us help you enjoy this paper. This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Peace, Sincerely,Monica LunaBridge Editor-in-Chief
