Welcome back students, faculty, and administration to another semester here at Texas A&M International University. For most freshmen, it is the beginning of your second semester as a Dustdevil. I hope you’re enjoying yourself thus far. For upperclassman, it seems as though we’re all counting down the days until graduation. Until then, we can “enjoy” another busy semester.
Apart from our inclement weather days, the biggest event on campus has been Spirit Week. Kudos to all the participants who ran for Mr./Ms. TAMIU and a big congrats to the TAMIU Men’s Soccer team for receiving their Heartland Conference Championship rings.
We have many of our writers joining us for a second semester on our Bridge staff. Apart from our usual people, we now have Josie Gutierrez, Mark Nix, Eduardo Hidalgo, and Jennifer Torres who are the newest reporters.
The Advanced Journalism class meets on Saturdays for three hours and discusses the latest achievements in the era of digital media. The class is composed of TAMIU students and reporters from local media publications. Daniel Rosas, online editor at El Manana, co-teaches the class alongside Dr. Maria Flores, Assistant Professor of Communication.
It looks to be an exciting year for our staff and reporters at The Bridge. We look forward to continue covering events on campus and wish all students a great semester.
Namaste,
Christine Rojas
