Amelia Martinez

My name is Amelia Martinez and I am 26 years old.  I was born here in Laredo and raised here too.  I am majoring in Communications.  I have chosen Communications as TAMIU does not offer a degree in Journalism.  At this moment I have not chosen a minor because I am not sure what I want to minor in.  I expect a lot from this class.  I hope that by the end of this semester, I am a better writer.  Mainly, I am hoping to learn how to properly put together my ideas/thoughts in order to effectively write for the media.  My interests include, but are not limited to, health, fitness, welfare, dance, local events, music and nightlife.  In the future, I would like to pursue a career relating to public relations or journalism, however, I am still unsure of what I will do when I graduate from TAMIU.  Another thing I would like to do in the future is to move out of Laredo and pursue my career.
