La Mata has been gracing us with their talents for quite some time, only to move us some more with their bright ambient sounds and their cumbia beats right from the heart of Laredo. With Sergio’s guitar styling haunting us in every song coinciding with Gaby’s vocalization and acoustic rhythm, it certainly moves “el skeleto” only to bring it back in even harder. Let’s not forget Alejo’s many talents now. Originally the keyboardist, he took over bass duties temporarily and now plays drums both in the studio and live. David, bassist of Spaztik Colon, now permanently on bass. Originally a punk rock bassist, David scooted into metal briefly and is now the man in charge of the driving cumbia beat. Also of Spaztik Colon, Frank, originally a guitarist, is now on keyboard as a permanent member.
This Demo was recorded last season with homemade equipment on their spare time. Let’s show them our appreciation and download this Free Demo made available exclusively for us, TAMIU. Don’t forget to make it out to their benefit shows ranging from raising money for children who do not get to celebrate their birthdays (Bethany House/Project Cupcake) to raising money for Laredo’s very own animal shelter. They of course do this out of humility, and free of charge.
Without further a due, start your downloading.
