1. What will you do to encourage student involvement and enhance student life?

As president it would my duty to listen to the will of the people. I will advocate changes and improvements to the campus based on the needs and feedback of the student body. That is why my official campaign slogan is “Tell me what you want! Together we can make it happen!”  I am aiming to truly be a real representative of the students of TAMIU.

2. What is the biggest challenge facing the university? What would you do to meet that challenge? I feel the biggest challenge facing TAMIU is the rapid population growth of students. It is great to see the campus growing and maturing, but it is quite clear that such rapid growth is starting to strain the campus resources in many areas such as computer labs and parking. To meet this challenge I would strengthen the role and numbers of the Student Government Association special committees dedicated to effect positive change to the campus. In my experience, these committees are a great way to let the voice of the student body be heard by the faculty and staff of TAMIU in a diplomatic and effective way.

3. What has been your most significant contribution to TAMIU thus far?

My most significant contribution to TAMIU thus far is my work with the Student Government Association. I have already contributed to many projects such as the planning of the Student Government Promotion Week. This was designed to educate and encourage students and organizations to get involved with Student Government Association, to spread the message that Student Government Association is designed to support the students and organizations of TAMIU.  I was also involved in the advertisement for the Organization Fair hosted by the Student Government Association to help organizations recruit members. Currently I am the chair of a committee advocating the creation of student designated computer labs to try and increase computer availability for the students of TAMIU.
