1. What is the biggest challenge facing the university? What would you do to meet that challenge?
The rapid growth of the student population on campus has made the old bureaucratic procedures of some offices obsolete. Increasing communication between those offices and SGA will improve the procedures and remove unneeded bureaucracy. As vice president I will arrange the SGA Senate agenda to include issues that students really care about and center the SGA Senate meetings on problem solving.
2. Discuss and rank your budget priorities.
The position of the vice president does not have direct impact on budget priorities, but indirectly appoints members to the Budget Committee. I will appoint members that prioritize the following:
- Promotion of SGA to the general student body;
- Grants to the student organizations that host on campus events,
- SGA events that target the general student body
3. Why are you seeking the position of SGA Vice-President?
My vast experience in SGA will enable me to use the responsibilities of the office of the vice president to better address the concerns of the student body. I have previously addressed many issues and made decisions that have had a direct impact on the student population. Under the student fee advisory committee, I raised several concerns which led to the creation of the Student Technology Committee. Serving in this committee I, along with five other student representatives, have looked into improving several technology services that are available to the general student body. I plan to continue doing this and organize senate meetings to accomplish more problem solving.
