Temperatures have started to drop, leaves have begun to turn brown and spread across lawns, and people have started decorating for the holidays. Fall has arrived.
With the some times unstable Laredo climate, students are left to their own devices when it comes to fall fashion. Should the student take a sweater to class? Should boots be accompanying this outfit? What will people be wearing? These may be a few questions on the top of every fashionista’s head. During the limited winter months that coats, sweaters, and jackets are needed one is sure to find their perfect match with the bevy of local and name brand stores in Laredo.
With a quick trip to Mall Del Norte, or any of the big name department stores, one is sure to ease their winter woes with some retail therapy.
Walking into Forever 21, one is shocked to see its grandeur; the shear size of the store is simply amazing and any young aspiring hipster is sure to find their perfect plaid shirt or glittery over sized t-shirt to match equally skinny jeans. The relatively new department store has a devoted following, and has quickly become the go-to place for local fashion forward students.
“Celebrated by many style conscious and trend-savvy shoppers, Forever 21 has quickly become the source for the most current fashions at the greatest value,” reads the Forever 21 Web site.
“Forever 21 is growing quickly, featuring new and exciting store environments, a constant flow of fun and creative clothing designs, and the accessories to make your look come together at the right price,” the Web site continues.
In one’s search for the perfect outfit, being limited to just the Mall should not be an option. Exploring the other department stores across town, such as Burlington Coat Factory, or even, dare I say, the Goodwill, is always a great escape to the mass produced, over worn outfits.
Venturing on to these rather low key stores is a great way to find one-of-a-kind treasures that are sure to impress a crowd without breaking the bank.
The Goodwill store or even the Bethany House thrift stores are greatly under appreciated hidden treasures of Laredo, with rare vintage pieces that can complete any outfit.
The trick to Fall Fashion is to own the outfit you wear. Confidence is the perfect accessory for all occasions, not to be confused with arrogance. And as a note to all, Ed Hardy should never be worn on any occasion.
