
College of Education Hooding and Honor Cord Ceremony
The College of Education at Texas A&M International University hosted their Hooding and Honors ceremony for the spring 2012 semester on Thursday, May 10, in the Fine & Performing Arts Recital Hall. The ceremony honors and acknowledges the achievements of those undergraduate and graduate students that pursued a degree in the college of education.
The ceremony was initiated with the classical guitar ensemble of Dr. Gilberto Soto, followed by the introduction and greetings of Dr. Alfredo Ramirez Jr. The students and all present were congratulated for their achievements and hard work by the Dean of College of Education Dr. Catheryn Weitman.
The department chair and faculty was in charge of presenting the Graduate hooding to those students obtaining their Master's of Science in education. The undergraduate students were presented with their honor cords by Dr. Catheryn Weitman and Mayra Peña. The host of the ceremony was Dr. Diana Linn.
The closing remarks were done by Dr. Catheryn Weitman, who took the opportunity to once more congratulate the students and their families for the achievement of obtaining their respective degrees.
The students and all present were invited to attend a reception after the ceremony in honor of the students graduating, that took place in the student center rotunda.
