Chilis Gets Hot With Charity
Coco is a 7 year old girl who likes board games and watching movies. She has three siblings and may seem like any other normal young girl. But in the spring of 2009, Coco was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a brain tumor. She had an emergency surgery to remove the tumor and was then sent to St. Jude's Research Hospital so that she could receive treatments.
When children are sent to St. Jude's hospital, parents can concentrate on getting their child better and do not have to worry about the money they may owe. Because of the many donors who keep this hospital running, lives of children have been saved and these children find hope and solace in their times of need.
Chili's restaurant has been a great supporter over the years. They have created a program called "Create-a-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer." This year on September 27, Chili's will be donating 100% of the profits made that day, to St. Jude's children hospital. They have also teamed up with cell phone providers. By texting the word "HOPE" to 90999, five dollars will be added to your bill and donated to St. Jude's. You can also donate online or buy your own "Create-a-Pepper" tee to donate as well.
So go and eat. It's something we do every day but this time, we'll be giving back to our community and helping these children get the help they need. We can make a difference in their lives by donating a little at a time. Whether you buy the shirt, text to donate 5 dollars, or eat at Chili's on the 27th, you will be making a difference.
For more information on Chili's "Create-a-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer" campaign visit the website www.createapepper.com. This website will show you where to donate, how to buy a tee, and even has a contest to create your most original pepper! Help Chili's in the fight against childhood cancer.
