The Bridge to host Food Bank Benefit Drawing
The Texas A&M International University's student newspaper, The Bridge, is hosting a Food Bank Benefit Drawing. The Bridge has been involved in many events to help better the community. During the 2011 Fall Semester, The Bridge and its members, held a Blanket and Toiletry Drive to help the Bethany House of Laredo.
This drawing is a little different. What is being asked for here? The Bridge is simply asking for currently enrolled students to bring in 10 non-perishable food items to the Student Center Patio, March 1, 2012, between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The Bridge is also asking that students "Like" their Facebook page.
So what's in it for you? Well, when a currently enrolled student donates 10 non-perishable food items and "Likes" our Facebook page, that student will be eligible to win 2 tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's Dralion. How will this be conducted? Each student, who participates, will have their name and contact information will be taken down and placed in a bowl. When the 5 O'clock hour is reached, a member of The Bridge will pull out three names from the bowl. The students, who are called out, will be the winners of this drawing.
All of the donations will be given to the South Texas Food Bank. So come one and come all. This is a chance to help out your fellow man and bring in some good Karma. Plus, you have a chance to win tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's Dralion! With all of these benefits, it would be a shame not to participate.
Be sure to take a look at The Bridge's website for more updates. This event will take place March 1, 2012 starting at 3 p.m. and ending at 5 p.m. Students, who wish to participate, must be currently enrolled at TAMIU, "Like" The Bridge's Facebook page, and must bring in 10 non-perishable food items. These students will have a chance to win tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil's Dralion. If you have questions about this event, please feel free to visit The Bridge's website, www.thebridgenewspaper.com, or stop by their office in Pellegrino Hall 312.
