Can't get into Agave?

This past weekend, a couple of my friends and I made a horrendous decision by canceling our Austin, TX trip for Halloween, therefore leading us to celebrate Halloween in Laredo. So like all Laredo natives, we decided that we should go to a club, and what better club than Agave Azul. What we forgot was that all of Laredo was going to be at Agave Azul and there was a tremendous line to get in. So we chose the next best and closest club that we could go to and that was none other than, MIX.

We knew that we were going to miss out on quite a great night since Agave was packed with a ridiculous amount of ladies wearing their Halloween costumes, but there was still hope. We noticed that a fair amount of ladies were walking into the club so we decided to head on over to MIX, which is conveniently located right next to Agave. Passing the security and paying the seven dollar cover charge we were emerged into MIX; did I mention that the security guard takes a mere glance at your identification and charges you seven dollars no matter what! Compared to 15 dollars at Agave, this is a steal! Anyway, well there we are inside MIX and I'm thinking to myself, why haven't we come before! It's pumping! There are girls, drinks aren't over priced, and music is blasting! Yeah, it's not as big as Agave but size doesn't matter, it's the ambiance that the club brings!

The night goes on and the club is still pumping, and they announce they are going to have a Halloween costume contest, and all I have to say is wow. These costumes were elaborate. You had everything from princesses to Batman to the more elaborate Hooters girl; a guy dressed as a hooters girl, and she, well I should say he, had certain assets that were a bit exaggerated; good costumes. There was also a very well designed Poison Ivy costume that had all the guys going crazy. We ended up leaving early before the winner was announced, since we knew it was going to be packed trying to leave at two.

As we were leaving, I came to the conclusion that the club was actually pretty fun; yeah Agave might have been a more entertaining night, but with the inexpensive cover charge and moderately priced drinks, MIX is a good club if your looking for a new club to visit rather than waiting in line at Agave with the chance of not even getting in! So next time your waiting in line at Agave, get the hell out of the line and head on over to MIX, who knows, you'll probably see me there next weekend!
