#18 Men's Soccer Picks Up Second Consecutive Shutout Win
Dustdevils Blank U.T. Permian Basin
Odessa, Texas - Texas A&M International University keeper Emmanuelle Frias picked up his second consecutive shutout win Friday night, leading the Dustdevils to a 3-0 win over U.T. Permian Basin. TAMIU outshot the Falcons 18-7, including a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Luis Salas put the Dustdevils up 1-0 in the 27th minute, converting a penalty kick for his fourth goal of the season. Guilherme Andrade tallied his second goal of the week in the 62nd minute, volleying home a free kick sent into the box by Christian Salazar. Just nine minutes later, Ivan Raad picked up his second goal of the week, blasting a shot past the keeper off a corner kick from Luis Salas. Andrade and Raad each have three goals on the season for TAMIU.
The Dustdevils improve their overall record to 9-2-2 and a perfect 5-0 in conference play.
