Panich Holds One Shot Lead at LeTourneau Spring Classic
Opens Tournament With 74

LONGVIEW - The Texas A&M International University Women's golf team combined for an opening round score of 346, good for sixth place out of nine teams at the LeTourneau Spring Classic in Longview, Texas.
Junior Tammy Panich leads the medalist race after posting a two over 74 at the par-72, 5812-yard Pinecrest Country Club. Panich opened with a two-over 38 on the front side, before closing with an even-par 36 on the back. Panich will still have plenty of work to do on the final day of tournament play, as three competitors finished just one stroke back.
Junior Victoria Young turned in her best round of the year shooting an 87 to finish in a tie for 26th place. Karina DeAnda matched her low round of the season with an opening round 90, while teammate Abigail Palacios turned in a 95. Yesenia Ramirez rounded out the first round scores for TAMIU with a 100.
The final round of tournament play will get underway Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. For final scores make sure to log back in to www.godustdevils.com.
