Our New Escape
It seems as though there is a place we can all escape to and find our favorite books. Escape Again bookstore opened its doors to the public as of April 2010 and currently serves the Laredo area and meeting its book needs.
Eddie Cardenas, owner and operator of Escape Again researched all the means necessary to open and run his own book store, something he always wanted to do. Upon completing pastry school, Cardenas originally thought of running a bakery but in his opinion, Laredo was more in need of a book store.
The 12,000 titles that Mr. Cardenas carries at the moment are result of buying, selling, trading, and donations received. While interviewed, Mr. Cardenas announced that Escape Again is a place where a student can come and find bargain books ranging from three to eight dollars approximately.
Also available is the buying books at Escape Again through trade in credit, meaning that a customer brings in a book and receives credit for that book depending on its value and is allowed to apply 50% of trade in credit on each purchase.
The Bridge had the opportunity to visit Escape Again bookstore where Cardenas gave a tour of all the aisles and the different genres available. Genres included: science fiction, manga, young readers, health, religion, biography, history, children's literature, new releases, romance, mystery, adventure, general fiction, horror, cooking, and classic literature. Mr. Cardenas also mentioned the future plans of the store such as online ordering services and search catalogs.
In the mean time, Escape Again welcomes everyone to visit the store for buying, selling, trading, or donating. Escape Again book store is now open on Sundays located at 608 W. Calton Rd. Laredo, TX 78045. Their website is info@eaboks.net and their telephone number is (956) 568-1609.
